Our mission is to work together with the home, business, and community to develop responsible and productive lifelong learners.

Our Beliefs

Education is a lifelong process in which all students can learn.

Education will meet the needs of a changing society.

Education will provide opportunities for students to learn effective written and oral communication skills, practice critical thinking and problem solving skills and express ideas creatively.

Education will also address physical, cultural, social and emotional needs of students.

Students will be expected to accept responsibility to be actively involved in learning.

Students are the focus of an educational process that is valued, shared, and supported by the home, school, business, and community.

All individuals will be treated with dignity, respect, and equality.

Parents and guardians will be expected to be actively involved in their children's education.

The School District of Oconee County encourages all families with students eligible to attend K5 kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year to complete a pre-registration application.  To be eligible for kindergarten, a child must be  5 years of age on or before September 1, 2024.

Applications are now being accepted for school choice for the 2024-2025 school year.   More details and the application can be found on the Enroll link on the district and all school websites.  Please note: Students' birthdate and student ID numbers will be required to apply.

Any parent wishing to apply for school choice for an incoming kindergarten student will be able to do so during   Kindergarten Pre-registration which  opens on Monday, March 4th.  

School Choice applications will be accepted through Friday, June 7th..
